Cristina hails from Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle, WA, by which I mean late-season Grey's Anatomy. She's a board-certified, prestigious-award-nominated cardiothoracic surgeon, and she's supposed to be in Zurich right now running her own hospital, but Fandom stole her instead.
Meredith Grey is not going to hear the end of this. Assuming Cristina ever works out that she's not dead and in purgatory being punished for — being awesome, probably. It's not her fault that people think she has no feelings. She doesn't have time for warm fuzzies with more than, like, two people, and those slots are all filled up, thanks.
Cristina will be working in the clinic, insulting anyone who comes in for not being more drastically injured and denying her the opportunity to cut them open and feel like a god. She doesn't actually want anyone to end up dying, it's just that dying people are more interesting, and she didn't graduate first in her class from Stanford medical and survive a hospital shooting, a plane crash, three days stranded in the wilderness in Idaho, and god knows how many more disasters at the Hospital of Death to be a glorified nurse in a small town clinic.
So yeah, she's used to weird. Well, she's used to what she thinks is weird. Fandom is a whole other level of weird she's unprepared for, but she'll do her best to look unphased by it. Everyone living here is unphased by the weird, so she has to be unphased too. Because if she isn't then she loses. And Cristina Yang doesn't lose. Everything is a competition and Cristina will win it all.
Even the hot dog eating contests.
Cristina is arrogant and callous. She's described repeatedly by her coworkers and friends in canon as being a "robot" for her ability to compartmentalize her feelings and not care too much about her patients. Sure, that leads to some seriously epic meltdowns when all those feelings build up too much, but that's just part of being dark and twisty inside. And of winning.
So there you go. The clinic is gaining an extremely skilled new doctor, who already hates you all. Or would, if she cared that much.
